Product description

The silver medal from the Czech Mint, which forms part of the series of the 12 signs of the zodiac, will delight all those born under the celestial sign of Scorpio.

The best time to observe the constellation of Scorpio – known in Latin as Scorpio – is in June. However, from our latitude, we will never see it in its entirety. It recalls the ancient legend of the proud hunter Orion, who swore to exterminate all the animals in the world. This did not please Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, so she sent a deadly scorpion after him. The duel between the hunter and the giant scorpion then so captivated Zeus, the ruler of the gods, that he raised them both to the heavens…

The silver medal was designed by the medallist MgA. Petra Čánská. She dedicated the obverse side of the coin to the scorpion, whose body traces the outline of the corresponding constellation. The composition is completed by the Czech-Latin inscription ŠTÍR – SCORPIO, the corresponding astrological symbol and a stylised sun. The sun can also be found on the reverse side of the medal, where it is surrounded by a dozen constellations and a complete overview of the signs of the zodiac.

Each silver medal is presented in elegant gift packaging. Our range also includes a gift ducat from gold. You can also choose a version on which we will engrave text of your choice.
