Product description

People from all over the world beg the Infant Jesus of Prague for help, healing and peace. The Czech Mint dedicated this motif to the silver coin with selective gilding from a free cycle of Prague historical sights.

Is the miraculous power of
the Infant Jesus of Prague real? Many believers who thank for its favor would answear. The place where you can ask for miracles is not far from Malostranské náměstí. People have believed in the supernatural power of the statue of the divine baby since the Thirty Years' War, when Polyxena of Lobkowicz donated it to the Church of Our Lady Victorious. The noblewoman received the Infant Jesus as a wedding gift from her mother who came from Spain and she received it from her mother again when she went to marry to Bohemia. People noticed soon that the Lesser Town avoided problems and decided that the Infant Jesus of Prague had saved them from the plague and the Swedes. The glory of the statuette that treats the sick and fulfills wishes of the supplicants has spread to all corners of the planet. Although they sometimes do not know where Prague is situated, Spanish, Italian, Irish or Latin Americans pray to the Infant Jesus of Prague. For example, thirty thousand people attend religious services dedicated to the Infant Jesus in India …

The commemorative coin was processed by the medal maker
Petra Brodská, DiS. The reverse side presents a statue with a crown, together with an elaborated dress. The blessing baby is surrounded by decorative ornaments, gilded sun rays, together with a Czech-Latin inscription PRAŽSKÉ JEZULÁTKO - JESULUS PRAGENSIS. Since the coins are issued with a foreign license of the island of Niue, the obverse side bears the necessary attributes of the issuer, which means the name and the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the nominal value of 1 DOLLAR and the year of the issue 2020.

The Old Town Astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge and the National Theater appear together with the Infant Jesus of Prague in the cycle of Prague sights.
