Set of circulation coins Czech Republic 2026 proof

The Czech Mint, in cooperation with the Czech National Bank, has prepared a traditional luxury circulation coin set for collectors, struck in top-quality proof – this time featuring the year 2026.

The classic circulation coins with nominal values of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, and 50 CZK, which you encounter every day, are minted in “standard” quality. Their entire surface is matte and damage-resistant, ensuring the coins’ long lifespan. However, Czech coins are not merely a medium of exchange—many people appreciate their artistic craftsmanship and therefore include them in their numismatic collections. For these purposes, a collector’s version of the coins is produced in “proof” quality, characterized by a mirror-like shiny surface and a matte relief. This attractive contrast effect is achieved through a special surface treatment of the tools used for minting. At the beginning of the “proofing” process, the entire surface of the die is polished using special tools and diamond paste. The die is then covered with special adhesive tape. On the parts of the relief that are to remain matte, the proofers carefully cut and remove the tape. They work under a microscope and apply this procedure even to the finest details. Sand of various grits is then applied to the masked die, which mattifies the exposed parts of the relief. Finally, the remaining tape is removed, which kept the selected parts of the relief polished. Extraordinary care is also devoted to the “proof” variant of circulation coins during the actual minting process. This is not automatic machine minting—each coin is minted individually and packaged in a protective capsule.

In addition to six circulation coins bearing the year 2026, the set also includes a silver commemorative medal. This is a faithful reproduction of Otakar Španiel’s First Republic one-crown coin.

The set is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity, produced by the State Printing Office, and comes in elegant paper packaging.
