Sets of circulation coins

The traditional sports set of circulating coins of the Czech Mint and the Czech National Bank is dedicated to the Hockey World Championship held in the Czech Republic in 2024.

The Hockey World Championship is a top sporting event and a feast for all involved - players and spectators alike. The venue for this global championship is decided each year at the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF meeting and the Czech Republic was chosen for 2024. The 87th championship will take place in Prague's O2 Arena and Ostrava's Ostravar Arena from 10 to 26 May 2024. This is the third time that the country in the heart of Europe has hosted the world's hockey players - the prestigious tournament was also held in Prague and Ostrava in 2004 and 2015.

The set includes six circulating coins with nominal values of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 CZK, which were minted in 2024 and have not been in circulation. Another piece of the puzzle is a special commemorative token by the medal maker Petr Patka, DiS., with hockey motifs and colouring in the colours of the Czech flag.

All this is placed in a special thematic packaging.
