Product description

Prague, Brno, Jablonec nad Nisou and Zlin have been introduced in the free cycle of the gold mini coins of the Czech Mint placed in replicas of the postcards. This list continues to grow over the city of Liberec in 2018.

Liberec is situated in northern Bohemia near the German border, and both Czechs and Germans wrote the local history. Franz Joseph I, Edvard Benes and Vaclav Havel spoke from the balcony of the neo-Renaissance town hall to Liberec. The charming building is the heart of the metropolis, and it is no wonder that it became the central theme of the collector's valuable lithograph from the 1990s together with the original fountain and part of the main square. The uniqueness of the postcard which documents its origins is based primarily on the regional publisher. It was the famous lithographic studio founded in 1871 by Conrad Jäger from Prosec nad Nisou, who belonged to our most important publishers. The particular postcard, which served as a packaging template of coins, was sent from Liberec in 1898, which is evident from the text and stamp on a two-tailer stamp, and the following day was delivered to Horni Blatna. The composition of the postcard is complemented by a floral decor and the German inscription "Gruss aus Reichenberg", which means a greeting from Liberec.

The Liberec Town Hall
is not only devoted to postcards but also to the coin itself, the relief of which is the work of the talented medal maker Petra Brodská, DiS. The obverse side belongs to the attributes of the island of Niue, which provides the Czech Mint with a foreign license to coin its own commemorative coins. These are the portrait and the name of the emperor Elizabeth II, the year of the issue 2018, together with a nominal value of 5 DOLLARS (NZD).

The original issue is created for numismatics, philocartists and Liberec patriots.
