Product description

Nazi war machine started after gaining spurs in 1939. The Germans invaded all corners of Europe in 1940.

They attacked the north - invaded Denmark and
Norway, whose fate was decided by the battle for the strategic ice-free port of Narvik. In the West, they came up with a new type of war that became known as lightning — they invaded the Benelux countries, and defeated the French army, the strongest and most respected in Europe. Despite the situation, hundreds of thousands of soldiers who were stranded in the besieged port of Dunkerque were evacuated from conquered France thanks to the successful operation Dynamo. The Germans invaded the last free country and launched an air battle for Britain, when continental Europe was conquered.

The Czech Mint commemorates the brave defiance of European nations by issuance of four gold coins from the miniseries entitled
War Year 1940 in 2020. The complete collection can be traditionally stored in this stylish collector´s etue. It is made of sheet metal - just like most boxes used during World War II. Until plastics era, almost everything - first-aid kits to machine-gun cartridge belts were stored in metal cases.

The depiction on the lid of the box bears the silhouettes of
pilots of the British Royal Air Force rushing to their machines to fend off another Luftwaffe attack. The battle scene is supplemented with the jubilee year 1940 and mark of the Czech Mint.

The box also includes the certificate that was dedicated to
the Battle of Britain.
