The heroes of the Star Wars space saga are right at home on commemorative coins. This silver coin with the motif of IX. film episode is dedicated to the courageous Rey.

A girl named Rey has spent her entire life on the remote sand planet Jakku - alone and unaided. The inhospitable desert doesn't offer many opportunities to make a living, so she had to rely on her wits. She survived on the remnants of a huge battle from the Galactic Civil War and foolishly dreamed of a better future. But one day, a small droid BB-8 crossed her path seeking help, plunging her into a whirlwind of cosmic adventure in which the Light and Dark sides of the Force compete...

The reverse side of the coin presents two depictions of Rey - one in relief and the other in colour. She is accompanied by her faithful comrades-in-arms in vivid colours. The issuer of the coin is the Pacific island of Niue, therefore, its obverse side bears its attributes - the portrait and name of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of issue 2019 and the nominal value of TWO DOLLARS (NZD). The design of the officially licensed coin is the work of the New Zealand Mint art collective.

The coin is stored in a special box to protect it, and set in an acrylic frame to allow it to be displayed.
