Product description

A newborn baby always attracts attention, and his or her loved ones compete to see who shines with a better gift. The Czech Mint has prepared a silver thaler to the birth of a child for anyone looking for original, yet traditional gift.

Our ancestors donated
money for happiness to newborns. The talisman in the form of a coin made of precious metal was given to the baby in the families of rich nobles and poor peasants, usually by a godfather or godmother. They put the coin in the cradle, therefore the words "gifted" and "into blanket" are still used in connection with a gift for a baby to this day. Precious gift was to ensure that the child would not suffer in life. Moreover, it was the first investment in his or her future. The parents then cared for him or her until adulthood…

The talented medal maker
Lenka Nebeská, DiS. became the author of the artistic theme of the silver thaler. On the obverse side, there is a sleeping baby, which is held in the hands of his or her parents, together with the inscription TOLIAR K NARODENIU DIEŤAŤA. The reverse side then belongs to the traditional children's toy - a rocking horse.

The thaler is packed in a gift box together with a certificate of authenticity.
