The primary form of human society, which originated in the Stone Age, was gynocracy - the rule of women. Prehistoric statues, such as the famous Venus of Dolní Věstonice is a proof of the fact that mothers always used to be the object of sacred esteem. The age-old importance of motherhood in society is further underlined by the fact that important abstract concepts such as the Earth, nature or homeland are feminine and that the same word for mother is used throughout the world. When you say "mama", they will understand you in Russian, Swahili and Chinese…

The obverse side of the medal, which was processed by the medal maker Ludmila Kracíková, DiS., presents an abstract depiction of a mother composed of hearts, while the composition of the matte relief and polished surface evokes the symbol of yin and yang. The reverse side is dominated by the ornamental inscription For Mom surrounded by a spiral of hearts.

The silver medal is stored in an elegant box.
