Product description
The Czech Mint has issued a number of commemorative medals with Christmas theme in recent years. Firstly, it presented all figures of Bethlehem - Jesus, Mary, Joseph, Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar - in pure silver. Apart from that, the commemorative medal commemorated the 200th anniversary of the creation of the most famous Christmas carol entitled Silent Night. A festive silver medal, which is a valuable, tasteful and versatile Christmas gift, was dedicated to Christmas Eve in 2019.
Christmas Eve is one of the most popular days of the year and each of us has a different reason to be happy on December 24th. The right festive atmosphere could not be without family, Christmas tree, carols, TV fairy tales, candy, Christmas dinner, purple plate, lead casting, boating, mistletoe kiss, midnight mass and, of course, without gifts. The first Christmas gifts on our territory date back to the reign of King Wenceslas IV. In the Middle Ages, children were given red apples as a symbol of health, young virgins were given pearls which were a symbol of purity, and a precious metal coin was a traditional gift. If you held a gift all night, you would have a rich life. Will you try it?
Triangular composition of the obverse side of the medal was processed by medal maker Mária Filová, DiS. and evokes the Christmas tree. Each box depicts an angel, mistletoe leaves, gingerbread in the shape of a heart, a bell, a Christmas decoration, cookies, a walnut boat with a candle, holly and a wrapped gift. Apart from that, there are decorative ornaments, together with an inscription CHRISTMAS EVE. The reverse side of the medal is dominated by a snowflake which shows that Christmas Eve cannot be perfect without snow …
Thematic gift packaging where you can write a dedication builds an integral part of the issue.
