Product description
The series of silver commemorative medals of the Czech Mint represents one of the three kings - Balthazar as an essential figure of the Bethlehem scene right after members of the Holy Family.
The three men who, according to the legend, came to worship the new king of Israel, were not of the Jewish origin, however, the pagan sages, which means the zoroastrian priests and the Persian star-men whose knowledge of the heavenly sky highlighted the unusually glowing star. Perhaps it was even a comet. Its light led them first to Jerusalem, where they met the cruel King Herod. He wanted to know where the baby he intended to prepare for her life was born. But the sages did not let deceive themselves and went to Bethlehem, where they knelt down in the stable in front of Jesus, who they recognized their savior.
Medal maker Maria Filova, DiS. donated the obverse side of a medal to kneeling Balthazar with a crown on his head. Oriental sage holds a gift for Jesus - a cup of incense. The star above his head lights up the Bethlehem landscape. The reverse side of the medal is then dominated by another star with an inscription The Star of the Temple of Nativity in Bethlehem. The fourteen-pointed symbol is located in the Bethlehem shrine where it reminds you of the exact place where the messiah came to the world.
You can save Balthazar to a collector's album in the form of a folding nativity scene. He has his place alongside Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the other two kings - Kaspar and Melichar.
