Product description

For the offering of a silver commemorative medal for graduates from the Czech Mint, one can find motives for their graduation, masters, engineers, doctors of medicine and also doctors of law. Now added to the list is another academic degree - the Bachelor, whose history dates back to the Middle Ages.

The author of the artistic design on the obverse side of the bachelor medal is Petr Patka, DiS., who sidetracked from his duties as the master of production in the Czech Mint, to medal making. The result is an elegantly processed motif of the Rubik's Cube - the famous puzzle, that requires a patience, a concentration, a skill, an imagination, … - in short, all the the characteristics necessary to the successful completion of the university studies. The individual cubes, from which the puzzle consists, bears letters spelling the academic title and its abbreviation Bc. The description of the obverse reads GAUDEAMUS IGITUR, in translation from the Latin "So Let Us Rejoice," which are the first words of an old students anthem, celebrating the pleasures of youth.

Alongside the decorative motive on the reverse side contains stars and an empty space to engrave the dedication. Thanks to 50mm diameter, the medal can accommodate up to 6 lines of text with 25 characters, including spaces - enough to let your Bachelor know, what his success means to you.

But that's not all - we can engrave a photograph on reverse of the medal!

The great advantage of this technology is that, unlike milling or carving, no material is drawn away - a computer controlled diamond tip does not rotate whilst engraving, so there is no loss of a precious metal.

The so-called personification allows you to create a unique commemorative medal, which will surprise each bachelor!
