Silver medal 2012 European Football Championship proof

European Football Championship, which has lately been denoted as EURO and the year  in which it is held (e.g. EURO 2008), is the main football competition of men’s national teams sanctioned by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The championship has taken place every four years since 1960. The 2012 European Championship will be hosted by Poland and Ukraine from 8 June to 1 July 2012. These two countries were chosen at the meeting of UEFA’s Executive Committee in Cardiff on 18 April 2007, where they defeated other candidates – Italy and the joint Croatia- Hungary bid. At the European Championship Czech footballers will play against Russia, Greece, and Poland. All matches in the Group A will be played in Wrocław, a Polish town about 300 km far from Prague.

The silver medal was designed by Petr Horák. The obverse side of the medal features a stylized football player in motion, and decor in circumscription. The reverse side shows a logo of the Czech Republic’s Football Association, the decor around the rim connects both
sides of the medal.

Limited edition 500 pcs.
