Three Musketeers

The final silver coin of the Czech Mint's four-part collector's miniseries The Three Musketeers features the hot-blooded d'Artagnan and the beautiful Constance Bonacieux.

A bright and courageous young Gascon, d'Artagnan is an ideal candidate for a Royal Musketeer, however, rashness and pride stand in his way. No sooner has he arrived in Paris than he has made an enemy of Count Rochefort and challenged three Musketeers to a duel in a single day. Meeting Athos, Porthos and Aramis could have cost him his life, but instead he impressed Louis XIII himself and made friends for life and death. The company of experienced Musketeers suits d'Artagnan - Athos in particular has a weakness for him, adopting him as a son - and he grows from an impulsive protégé to a prudent leader. Alongside his short temper, however, Gascony is also getting into trouble for love. His head is full of the beautiful Constance Bonacieux, the Queen's devoted maid, who sends d'Artagnan on a mission that will decide the fate of all France…

The medal maker Matěj Funk, DiS., has dedicated the reverse side of the coin to a distinctive depiction of a musketeer and a maid, surrounded by the English inscription D'ARTAGNAN AND CONSTANCE BONACIEUX. The additional motif is a three times crossed rapier sword, symbolizing the four inseparable friends. The obverse side then presents additional Musketeer rapiers and the French motto UN POUR TOUS - TOUS POUR UN (one for all, all for one). Since the licence to issue commemorative coins of the Czech Mint is granted by the Pacific island of Niue, the obverse side bears its necessary attributes - the national emblem, the nominal value of 1 DOLLAR (NZD) and the year of issue 2024.

The complete Musketeer collection can be stored in a collector's case that can also be found in the Czech Mint's offer.
