The seventh episode of Star Wars, subtitled The Force Awakens, kicked off a new chapter in the adored film saga. Its characters, including Rey, appear on special coins in the form of notes made of silver.

An orphaned girl named Rey has spent her entire life on the remote sand planet Jakku - alone and unaided. The inhospitable desert did not offer many opportunities to make a living, so she had to rely on her wits. She survived on the remnants of a huge battle from the Galactic Civil War and foolishly dreamed of a better future. But one day, a small droid named BB-8 crossed her path seeking help, plunging her into a whirlwind of cosmic adventure in which the Light and Dark sides of the Force compete...

On the reverse side of the "banknote", which was created by the New Zealand Mint, Rey is depicted twice - the first portrait (with a detail of her face) is coloured and the second (with a shot of Rey's speeder) is in the form of an engraving. The insignia of the Resistance of the New Republic also appears in relief. The obverse side then bears the necessary attributes of the issuer, which is the island of Niue - i.e. the name and portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the nominal value of ONE DOLLAR (NZD) and the year of issue 2019.

The issue includes a collector's album which, in addition to the Rey, holds six more "coin note" coins.
