Four Leaf Clover
The stories of the comic book Čtyřlístek translated as Four Leaf Clover have been amusing young and old readers for 50 years, therefore, a collector´s mini-series of commemorative coins was issued on this occasion. The Czech Mint introduces the hare Pinďa on the silver coin after the brilliant cat Myšpulín.
Pinďa is the youngest one of the Čtyřlístek - he is shy and often needs help, but he is not afraid to ask for it. His friends, who are smarter, stronger and more experienced, take care of him and always give him advice. As a hare, Pinďa is an excellent runner and athlete. His mother, who liked sprint races, guided him to do sports. She told him stories about beautiful nature instead of fairy tales about dragons and princesses. It is known that Pinďa was born in the spring, but how old is he? “The heroes of Čtyřlístek are young, but they have a driver's license. And Pinďa sometimes goes to school ... So his age is uncertain, ” the author of Čtyřlístek Jaroslav Němeček explains.
The relief of commemorative coin was created according to original comic book illustrations by Mária Filová, DiS. The reverse side presents Pinďa doing sport - in a jersey with a soccer ball. The composition of the reverse side is supplemented by Pinďa's signature. The obverse side bears the necessary attributes of the island of Niue, which provides the Czech Mint with a license to coin its own commemorative coins. The attributes are the name and the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II., the nominal value of 1 DOLLAR (NZD), and the year of the issue 2019.
Remember that Myšpulín´s coin included a collector's album where you can store a complete four-part comic book collection.
