Four Leaf Clover
The heroes of the comic book Čtyřlístek experience the joys and worries of everyday life during incredible adventures across space and time. They have met a number of historical personalities, fairy-tale creatures and robots on expeditions from the depths of the oceans to cosmic distances during 50 years! The Czech Mint published four silver coins on the occasion of the round jubilee of Čtyřlístek. Myšpulín appears on the first coin.
When Jaroslav Němeček worked on the first stories, he was determined that he wanted fantastic elements in them. At first he invented several witch characters, but finally he chose a brilliant inventor inspired by Albert Einstein. Thus a black and white cat dressed in a red jacket with a purple bow tie named Myšpulin was born. How did a hero who became famous for epochal and often confused inventions come to an unusual name? It was invented by Lucie Němečková, the wife of the author, according to a tree called medlar (mišpule in czech). The change from soft „i“ to hard „y“ then probably related to the favorite cat delicacy…
Mária Filová, DiS became the author of the commemorative coin relief which is based on the original comic book illustrations. On the reverse side of the coin you will find Myšpulín carrying a giant test tube - it will be one of his more flagrant inventions judging according to sparks coming out of it. On the reverse side you will find Myšpulín's autograph. On the obverse side there is the profile and the name of Queen Elizabeth II, the nominal value of 1 DOLLAR (NZD) and the year of the issue 2019, which means the essential elements of the island of Niue, which provides the Czech Mint with a foreign license to mint its own commemorative coins.
You can store a complete collection of four comic book coins with Myšpulín, Pinďa, Fifinka and Bobík in a merry collector's album which is an integral part of Myšpulín's coin.
