Ferdy the Ant
Miss Ladybird is famous for her vanity. She has already appeared together with Ferdy the Ant on the silver coin from the Czech Mint's miniseries. However it was not enough for her. Therefore, she has her own issue.
The word Ladybird sounds diminutive and cute, therefore, it can be assumed that such a fairytale character will be kind. Unfortunately, it is not a true. The Ladybird has only black dots in common with the warm-hearted ant. She is beautiful, but arrogant, ungrateful, whining, calculating and she is a liar as it turns out later. She tends to be in the spotlight, so it is no wonder that she likes to be admired by a hard-working suitor especially when Ferdy teases a grasshopper and makes a luxurious carriage for her. But she is not grateful to the ant, and when he slaps her on the back, Ladybird reports it to the police. Ondřej Sekora decided to improve his heroine in other stories. She is still a dressy girl, but she tries to be nice and even helps Ferdy several times.
Happy Ladybird, that tries to cover her smile with her hand, is the main motif of the reverse side of the coin made by the medal maker Irena Hradecká, DiS. The obverse side bears the necessary elements of the island of Niue, who provides the Czech Mint with a foreign license to mint its own commemorative coins. These are the name and the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of issue 2019 and the nominal value of 1 DOLLAR (NZD).
You can save the Ladybird coin in a collector´s album that was part of Ferdy's silver coin.
