What was behind the success of the man who founded one of the most important media empires in human history? Walt Disney pursued high quality and paid attention to every detail. He was renowned as an expert storyteller with extraordinary creativity and imagination. He was a visionary who constantly innovated the film industry and pioneered modern technology. Moreover, he created new divisions within his company that were given responsibility for television, music and theme parks. Last but not least, he was an expert marketer who managed to build an unmistakable brand and win the loyalty of generations…

The reverse side of the unusual rectangular coin presents the iconic Disney logo, which plays with all the colours of the rainbow. Silhouettes of six popular animated characters - Pluto, Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Goofy and Donald – are depicted in the foreground. The composition is supplemented with the English inscription 100 YEARS OF WONDER. The obverse side is then dedicated to the necessary elements of the issuer, which is the island of Niue - i.e. the national emblem, the nominal value of TWO DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2023. The officially licensed mintage was minted by the New Zealand Mint.
