Crystal Coin

India, Fiji, Guyana, Malaysia, Mauritius, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago - the exotic holiday known as Diwali is celebrated here. If you want to wish someone a happy festival of lights, the silver coin of the Czech Mint from the Crystal Coin series is the right choice.

At the turn of October and November - over the course of five days, the date of which changes every year - the streets of Asian countries offer a breathtaking spectacle full of glow and fireworks. Homes are also alive thanks to cleaning and decorating. Relatives and friends visit, pray and eat lots of good food. Together they hope for a new beginning and believe that the benevolent goddess Lakshmi will bring them good luck... Diwali is a festival celebrated by more than a billion people worldwide - Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and many others. The essence of this grand celebration is light, which symbolizes victory over spiritual darkness. This light traditionally takes the form of small clay lamps filled with oil and lit, for example, at the entrance to a house. Such a lamp is called a diya and the word avali means row in Sanskrit. This is how the ancient festival of lights got its name.

The reverse side of the coin, designed by artist Mohamed Raheel in collaboration with medal maker Petr Patka, DiS., presents a sitting Lakshmi. The goddess of happiness, abundance, wealth, beauty and fertility is surrounded by lotuses, together with cut stones made of Czech crystal set in the flowers around the perimeter of the coin. The sacred plants can also be found on the obverse side. As the coins of the Czech Mint are issued with the foreign licence of the island of Niue, they also bear its national emblem, the nominal value of 2 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2023 on the obverse side.

The coin is issued in a limited edition of 1000 pieces and is an original gift. It is stored in an elegant packaging that can be transformed into a practical frame for displaying it.
