"Everyone tells me that I am another Lukáš Krpálek" says with a laugh the phenomenal Paralympian - swimmer Arnošt Petráček –, which as well as our best Judoka, brought the only Czech gold from Rio de Janeiro.
Therefore he is also entitled the reward in the form of his own commemorative coin of pure silver.
Arnošt was born without the humerus and has a dislocated knee joints. Yet, as a the swimmer with a specialization in butterfly and backstroke styles, he managed to get the World Champion titles and holds several of the world and European records.
In his 25 years he participated three times already at the Paralympics, the place where courageous people do not fight only with their rivals but also with the adversity, and already looks forward to be able to defend his gold medal.
Besides his active swimming career, where he does not hesitate to measure his strength with non-disabled swimmers, he is dedicated to cycling, skiing and is an enthusiastic driver. He also works with the handicapped people and in it all manages to study business economics at the university!
The author of the visual design of the coin is an academic sculptor Jiří Dostál, whose specialties are the sporting themes precisely. He dedicated the reverse side to the portrait of the swimmer with glasses on the surface of the Paralympic pool and added a dynamic collage of inscriptions: ARNOŠT PETRÁČEK, PLAVÁNÍ /Swimming/, ZLATÁ MEDAILE /Gold medal/, RIO DE JANEIRO 2016. The obverse side then belongs to Fiji archipelago, which provides a license to mint a coins with motifs of a living notable individuals for the Czech Mint and the nominal value of the coin ONE DOLLAR (FJD) and the year of issue of the coin 2016.
