The two-ounce silver coin with the motif of a demonic pirate is an artistic and technical unique as well as a collector's unique piece.

Hostis humani generis - the enemy of all mankind. This terrifying title was used in ancient maritime law to refer to any pirate who brazenly plundered, murdered and pillaged on the high seas and on the coast. Those who chose such an infamous life path were not subject to any laws and could be punished at will. Yet by the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries, the Caribbean waters were full of pirates. Why? Perhaps they were looking for excitement, adventure and pleasure. After all, a share of the spoils of battle could be exchanged in the port taverns for gallons of rum and the company of beautiful women. But many sailors who had abandoned respectable company were tempted by something quite different. As pirates, they had no king to serve and no rules to obey. Democracy reigned aboard ships adorned with the black flag, where the captain remained the leader only as long as he had the support of the crew. Pirates may have risked the gallows, but it was worth the short and wild life of being their own masters. The greatest treasure they managed to steal was freedom...

Some pirates were so feared that people saw them more as demons, and it is just such a spectral buccaneer that you will find on the reverse side of the coin. On the middle finger of the skeletal hand that grips the ship in the bottle is a real treasure - a ring set with a real black diamond. In the surrounding relief you will find a number of typical pirate attributes - a chest, scattered coins, a parrot and a map of Treasure Island. The richly decorated obverse side is then dedicated to the necessary attributes of the issuer of the coin, which is the island of Niue - it bears its national emblem, the nominal value of 5 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2025. All of this stands out in high relief highlighted by patina, selective gold plating and UV printing.
