The fifth silver coin in the New Zealand Mint's series featuring the warriors of the Star Wars film saga is dedicated to the Knights of Ren.

After the end of the Galactic Civil War and the fall of the Empire, and the Republic together with the Jedi Order was to be reborn. Its most promising hope was Ben Solo, son of Han Solo and Princess Leia. A boy gifted with a connection to the Force became the protégé of Luke Skywalker, who sought to raise his nephew to be a wise and righteous knight. However, his grandfather's legacy took over in the restless Ben, succumbed to the Dark Side, and as Kylo Ren, set out to take over the galaxy. At his side stood other renegade Jedi who became known as the Knights of Ren. They were nearly unbeatable in battle - they represented the Force and were masters of cold-weapon combat. Their faces were covered by masks that aroused respect and terror in their enemies...

The reverse side of the rectangular coin, embellished with a patina, presents a coloured half-figure of the knight Vicrul gripping the hilt of a battle scythe. His comrades, including the first knight Kylo Ren, are then set in relief in the background. The coin is issued by the Pacific island of Niue, therefore, its obverse side bears its necessary elements - the portrait and name of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of issue 2021 and the nominal value of TWO DOLLARS (NZD). The design of the officially licensed coin is the work of the New Zealand Mint art collective.

The coin is stored in a special box to protect it and set in an acrylic frame to allow it to be displayed.
