The third silver coin from the New Zealand Mint cycle, which presents fighters from the Star Wars movie saga, is dedicated to deathtroopers.

Stormtroopers are known to every enemy of the Galactic Empire - they are fearful and ruthless and cannot be overlooked. Soldiers crouching in anonymous white armor are therefore by no means suitable for secret missions such as assassinations, sabotage and espionage, and so deathtroopers were born. The special commando, which is subject to Imperial intelligence, will fulfill even the dirtiest work without hesitation. Menacing black armor can be worn only by the best stormtroopers of the best who are completely devoted to their empire and its ideology. As deathtroopers, they operate in small units, where each man has his own specialization. There are sharpshooters and demolition experts among them, but they are all masters of improvisation, which is best evidenced by the guerrilla way of fighting.

The reverse side of the rectangular coin embellished with patina presents a colored half-figure of a deathtrooper. The plastic relief in the background then presents his comrades-in-arms during the battle for the planet Scarif. The issuer of the coin is the Pacific island of Niue, and its obverse side therefore bears its necessary attributes - the portrait and name of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of issue 2020 and the nominal value of TWO DOLLARS (NZD). The form of the officially licensed mintage was processed by the team of the New Zealand Mint.

The coin is stored in a special box that protects it and set in an acrylic frame that allows it to be exposed.
