Product description
While in Czechia, good luck takes the form of a four-leaf clover, a horseshoe, or a chimney sweep, in Japan it is personified by the maneki-neko cat, which you will find on this silver coin.
Maneki-neko is a traditional Japanese ceramic figurine in the form of a sitting cat with a collar with a bell around its neck and waving its raised paw. This gesture is understood in Japanese culture as a gesture of invitation, and the name of the figurine itself can be translated as "inviting cat." Who does the cat, which is usually white, black, red, or gold, beckon to? Good luck in various forms – most often in the form of money and customers. It is therefore no surprise that maneki-neko can be found at the entrances to shops, hotels, casinos, and other businesses. However, they can also be found in ordinary homes, where they serve as a reminder that sometimes all you need to do is invite good fortune...
The reverse side of the coin is dominated by the maneki-neko, which is depicted in vivid colors and surrounded by lots of money. Wealth can also be found on the obverse side in the form of a bulging purse. As the coin is issued under a foreign license from the state of Samoa, the obverse also bears its national emblem, the year of issue 2026, and the nominal value of $1 (WST). The composition is completed by the texts LUCKY CAT and LUCKY COIN.
The coin from TopWorldCoins, which is stored in an elegant case, has a mintage of 1,000 pieces.
