Archangels
The sixth archangel that appears on the silver coin of the Czech Mint is Azrael.
When we pray, we can turn directly to God or to his agents who oversee various aspects of our existence. Among the most revered divine beings who listen to human wishes and help those in need are the archangels. The ways of the Lord are often inscrutable and when we get lost on them, thanks to these kind and tireless heavenly messengers we can reach our desired destination... Azrael's name comes from the Hebrew עזראל – ʿǍzarʾēl, which means Whom God helps. He is best known as the archangel of death. He assists the deceased in their transition to the other world and helps the bereaved cope with their loss. But his scope is much wider. Whatever change we encounter in life, Azrael is ready to bear that burden with us.
The reverse side of the coin, which is the work of the medal maker MgA. Tereza Eisnerová, presents a winged Azrael with a hood and a halo. The obverse side of the coin features a temple window surrounded by wings and shining rays. As the licence to issue commemorative coins of the Czech Mint is granted by the Pacific island of Niue, the obverse side still bears its necessary attributes - the national emblem, the nominal value of 5 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2024.
The coin with the image of an archangel will serve primarily as a gift - for example, as a talisman for someone who needs a helping hand in a difficult moment. Therefore, you can write a dedication or other message for the recipient in the certificate of authenticity...
