Product description

This three-piece set of silver medals, minted by the Mint Mincovňa Kremnica, commemorates the beauty and richness of Slovak folk costumes.

"Different village, different folk costume," says a Slovak saying. This statement is true - at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries there were 60 types of Slovak costumes. In different regions, people used different fabrics, lace, lacing, embroidery and colours. The costumes reflected the availability of materials and the character of the wearers - profession, wealth, social class, religion, ... There were also different work, festive or ceremonial garments. Different costumes were worn by men and women, children, young people and adults, single, married or widowed. This contributed to gain rich folklore that is a unique testament to Slovak artistic sensitivity and creativity.

Each of the three medals in the set presents a different regional costume. In the performance of the medal maker Mgr. Art. Roman Lugár, you can admire the folklore of the Bratislava - Vajnory, Rakovo - Turiec and Vyšný Klátov - Abov regions. The embossed relief is supplemented with colouring technology, because without the bright colours the Slovak costume would not be complete.

The set of three medals is placed in an elegant wooden case.
