Sets of circulation coins proof

Czechs encounter circulating coins of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 CZK almost daily. They pass through countless human hands, and their most important characteristics are therefore their durability and resistance. However, our coins are also small works of art in addition to a means of exchange, and so the Czech Mint, in cooperation with the Czech National Bank, mints them in the delicate proof quality, which is characterised by its mirror-like lustre and will make every collector happy.

All coins have their authors. Have you ever wondered who is behind the Czech circulation coin? It's a quartet of top academic sculptors:

  • The coins with denominations of 1 and 2 CZK come from the workshop of Jarmila Truhlíková-Spěváková (* 14 November 1940) - her koruna coin appealed to the National Bank so much that it produced a two-crown coin as a direct order without a competition.

  • The five-crown coin is the work of the legendary artist Jiří Harcuba (6 December 1928 - 26 July 2013), who used the design of his earlier coins, which were used by Czechoslovakians to pay during the times of socialism and federation.

  • The 10 CZK and 50 CZK coins were designed by Ladislav Kozák (31 August 1934 - 22 July 2007) - he received the prestigious award for the most beautiful coin in the world for the bi-metallic circulation coin with our largest denomination.

  • The twenty-crown is the work of Vladimír Oppel (* 19 January 1953) - he is, among other things, the author of the Order of T. G. Masaryk, the most beautiful gold coin in the world, the largest gold coin in Europe and you may still remember his fifty-haler.

The set of Czech currency with the year 2024 is supplemented with a commemorative medal made of pure silver. This mintage, which is the work of the medal maker Lenka Nebeská, DiS., commemorates the Palladium of the Czech Land - a legendary holy image whose miraculous power protects our homeland.

The six coins are placed together with the medal in a paper package, which includes a certificate of authenticity printed by the State Printer of Valuables.
