Product description

Attention, there has been a change in comparison to the information provided in the Issue Plan for 2021! The coin set is not housed in the suede packaging you have encountered in previous years, but in a smooth, glossy brown case. However, the size has been retained.

Czechs encounter circulating coins of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 CZK almost every day. They pass through countless human hands, therefore, their most important characteristics are their durability and resistance. However, our coins are also small works of art in addition to a means of exchange, and so the Czech Mint, in cooperation with the Czech National Bank, mints them in the delicate quality proof, which is characterised by its mirror-like shine and will make every collector happy.

All coins have their authors. Have you ever wondered who is behind Czech circulation? It is a
quartet of top academic sculptors:

  • The 1 and 2 CZK coins come from the workshop of Jarmila Truhlíková-Spěváková (* 14 November 1940) - her crown coin so appealed to the National Bank that she worked on the two crowns as a direct commission without announcing a competition.
  • The five-crown coin is the work of the legendary artist Jiří Harcuba (6 December 1928 - 26 July 2013), who used the design of his earlier coins, which were used by Czechoslovakians to pay during the times of socialism and federation.
  • The 10 and 50 CZK coins were designed by Ladislav Kozák (31 August 1934 - 22 July 2007) - he received the prestigious award for the most beautiful coin in the world for the bi-metallic circulation coin with our largest nominal value.
  • The twenty-crown is the work of Vladimír Oppel (* 19 January 1953) - he is, among other things, the author of the Order of T. G. Masaryk, the most beautiful gold coin in the world, the largest gold coin in Europe and you may still remember his fifty-haler.

The set of Czech currency with the year 2021 is accompanied by a commemorative medal made of pure silver. This mintage, which is the work of medal maker David Kružliak, is dedicated to Czech crafts and Prague landmarks.

The six coins are placed together with the medal in an
elegant packaging which includes a certificate of authenticity printed by the State Printing House of Valuables.
