Set of circulation coins 2025 Večerníček stand
Product description
The Czech Mint, in cooperation with the Czech National Bank, regularly issues various sets of circulation coins. In 2025, such a set will commemorate 60 years since the television programme Večerníček first appeared on television.
‘Good evening, good night!’ Večerníček is a unique format of short television fairy tales – animated and live-action, cheerful and educational. Each one is different, yet they all have something in common. The character of a smiling boy with a paper cap who throws out magical story cards and helps children fall asleep is celebrating his 60th birthday. When it first started, there were only a few households that owned a television, but those who could watch never missed the regular fairy tales. From 1965, it was broadcast only once a week, but gradually more days were added, and the programme schedule settled on daily broadcasts of ten-minute bedtime stories in 1973. Over the course of 60 years, hundreds of series were created, introduced by the oldest Czech television jingle. Some of them are now forgotten, while others were so successful that they became a phenomenon for several generations, and many Czech bedtime stories are even known abroad, from Australia to Zimbabwe.
The set of circulation coins contains all valid metal coins with nominal values of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 CZK and the year 2025, issued by the Czech National Bank and minted by the Czech Mint in Jablonec nad Nisou. The six coins, which have not been released into circulation, are supplemented with a commemorative token designed by medal maker Eva Prousková, DiS. Its relief features two images of Večerníček – the first is in relief and the second is coloured.
The complete set is stored in a cheerful packaging with typical fairy-tale graphics based on the timeless illustrations of Radek Pilař.
