Product description
The Czech Mint, in cooperation with the Czech National Bank, regularly issues a comprehensive set of Czech circulation coins, which are supplemented with a commemorative token and placed in an elegant packaging with motifs of the Czech Republic. The year 2023 is no exception.
You come into contact with metal coins almost every day, however, have you ever thought about what their relief actually depicts? The crown coin bears the St. Wenceslas Crown and the two-crown coin presents a button - i.e. a decorative jewel from the times of the Great Moravian Empire. Coins with higher nominal values belong to the architecture of the Czech Republic. The five-crown commemorates the legendary Charles Bridge over the Vltava River. The ten-crown belongs to the Peter and Paul Cathedral in Brno. The twenty-crown is dedicated to the monument of St. Wenceslas from Prague's Wenceslas Square. The fifty-crown, which was declared the most beautiful circulating coin in the world in 1993, bears a grouping of the Charles Bridge, the National Theatre, St. Nicholas Church and Prague Castle with St. Vitus Cathedral - or unique buildings characteristic of our capital city.
In the set you will find six circulating coins, which were produced in a more economical way than the money that goes into circulation. Each coin bears the year 2023. The relief of the accompanying commemorative token, the work of medal maker Evelina Valášková, presents two novel views of Prague's landmark - the Basilica of St. Peter and Paul, which is the heart of Vyšehrad.
The packaging of the set takes the form of a Czech-English pop-up book full of photographs and interesting facts about the sights of the Czech Republic.
