Product description
Let me introduce a new annual series of circulating coins on Child Birth. This series is one of the most popular products of the Czech Mint in Jablonec nad Nisou and traditional gifts to be placed in the cradle of a newborn child. Thus you give your child a memento of the year in which it was born - of the currency its parents paid with in the year of its birth.
The series includes standard Czech coins with the face values of CZK 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 circulating in 2014. These particular coin pieces were not circulated and are placed in a welded foil together with an original token with the motif of a sleeping baby, modelled after the gold ducat commemorating child birth, and made into a square lacquered "booklet" in shades of blue and pink.
On the inside page of the reverse sheet of the folder in the column entitled "My First Day" you can fill out the child's data – name, date of birth, weight, length, eye colour, hair colour and a dedication or a message to the child.
Why are the annual series so popular?
The Czech Mint strikes circulating coins on the basis of commissions by the Czech National Bank. Depending on the needs of the coin circulation every year coins of a particular face value are minted, never the whole series from CZK 1 to CZK 50. An exception is represented by annual series of circulating coins which are issued for collectors or, like in the case of this series, as an original gift. This is the only way to get a complete set of all coin face values (from CZK 1 to CZK 50) coined in a single year!
