Product description
Slovak silver euro coin was minted in quality standard to the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Comenius University in Bratislava.
The Comenius University in Bratislava was founded in 1919 as the first university in Slovakia to offer the highest education in Slovak language. It was extremely important for the development of national education, as well as science and culture. The number of faculties has grown from the original three - medical, law and philosophy - to the current thirteen. Students can choose from more than nine hundred study programmes ranging from mathematics to theology. Slovakia's oldest and largest university has hundreds of domestic and international scientific research projects and is regularly ranked among the world's best educational institutions. Almost a quarter of a million graduates have left its doors...
The reverse side of the coin presents symbols that refer to the original trinity of faculties. The Latin words JURIDICA, PHILOSOPHICA, MEDICA also commemorate the faculties of Law, Philosophy and Medicine. The inscription at the edge states the name and year of the foundation of the university - UNIVERZITA KOMENSKÉHO V BRATISLAVE, 1919. The obverse side is based on the logo of the Faculty of Science. The composition is supplemented with the Latin inscription UNIVERSITAS COMENIANA BRATISLAVENSIS, the inscription SLOVENSKO (SLOVAKIA), the state emblem, the nominal value of 10 EURO and the year of issue 2019. All this is the work of medal maker Mgr. Art. Patrik Kovačovský.
The coin was minted by the Slovak Mint Mincovňa Kremnica and issued by the National Bank of Slovakia.
