Entering the book of records

28/05/2025

Today, we have received an extraordinary honour. Another project from the Czech Mint's workshop was included in the Czech Book of Records, published by the Agentura Dobrý den. After the gold coins made of five and ten kilograms of pure gold, it was finally the turn of a hundred and thirty kilogram gold coin. We produced this largest milled gold coin in the world for the Česká národní banka (Czech National Bank), and therefore we received the award alongside Dita Vejnárková, Director of the CNB Visitor Centre.

The record-breaking coin is stored in the vault of the Czech National Bank, where its value is growing steadily. Since its creation, the price of gold has increased by more than 150 %!

At the gala event in the beautiful premises of the Wallenstein Garden, we met a number of old acquaintances: The President of the Senate Miloš Vystrčil, who christened our book on the Czechoslovak currency in 2019. The theatre duo made up of Jiří Suchý and Jitka Molavcová, who appeared on our commemorative medals in 2021. Or Duke Albrecht von Wallenstein, who gave us a personal tour of his Jičín mint in 2023.

We also met a whole host of other extraordinary people – from adventurers to entrepreneurs to artists – who have one thing in common: They are fresh Czech record holders. We are in good company…
