Another gold coin of the collectible series inspired by the history of beloved children's hero Mickey Mouse captures the animated figure in its only second film. It bears the name „Gallopin' Gaucho“.

Mickey from 1928 is not the mannered good guy we know today. Many modern parents would surely not approve of an animated mouse, who enjoys cigarettes and alcohol (even his steed is trashed almost an entire film) and indulges in sensual Latin American dance with a provocatively dressed bar dancer Minnie. And that's not all - the attentive viewer will note, that on the wall of the inn hangs a poster, which indicates Mickey as a criminal and offers a reward for his capture! The reason for these indiscretions, however, is simple. The creators of the grotesque Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks were targeting the adult audience only. Mickeys Argentinian adventure was a parody of Douglas Fairbanks 'Gaucho', which at that time ruled all movie theaters.

The reverse side of the coin depicts a scene where both mice dance a tango - Minnie is wearing her characteristically excessive heels for the first time and Mickey has his dashing hat bumped at the forehead.

The obverse of the mintage then carries the necessary attributes of the publisher of coins, which is the island of Niue: the name and portrait of Queen Elizabeth II., the nominal value of 2 DOLLARS 50 CENTS (NZD) and the year of issue 2017. The artistic form of the coin, which is issued on the official license of Disney, has prepared the design team of New Zealand Mint.

Each coin is embedded into a trading card with film illustrations, which served as model for the mintage.
