Product description
A tenth addition of the collectibles series of commemorative medals called the Lookout towers is a building inspired by the famous Eiffel Tower - Petřín Tower -, which presents itself in one troy ounce of pure gold.
Petřín lookout tower is an elegant proof, that the observation towers do not have to grow only in mountainous areas. It stands at an altitude of 324 m n. M. and is one of the most significant dominants of the golden Prague. From the top of the Petřín Hill, that rises above the Lesser Town, its visitors can admire the magnificent panorama of the capital city with the dominant Prague Castle and the winding Vltava River. But there is more - from the platform located at a height of 55 meters in clear weather they can also see the mythical Říp and the Czech Central Mountains Brdy and in the far northeast, even the Giant massif.
Petra Brodská, DiS., a talented medal maker and author of the artistic design of this mintage has dedicated the obverse side to the view of the steel octagonal tower from its heel and an inscription PETŘÍNSKÁ ROZHLEDNA. /PETRIN TOWER/ The reverse carries a detailed view of the lattice structure and one of the eight legs anchored in the stone blocks along with the following text: VÝŠKA 65 m; 324 m n. m.; 16. BŘEZNA – 20. SRPNA 1891 /Height: 65 m; 324 m n. M .; March 16 - August 20, 1891/ (i.e.. the duration of construction works).
A comprehensive collection of gold medals can be stored into a luxury collectible casket in dark wood, which can be found in the assortment of the Czech Mint.
