Product description
A series of commemorative medals The Look-out towers of the Czech Mint represents our most beautiful look-out towers in one troy ounce of pure gold.
Its ninth increment becomes the look-out tower Boubín - a sober, functional, yet graceful look-out tower.
During the 19th and 20th century several structures were built on the Boubín, serving different purposes. All these buildings were made of wood, and the same applies also in the case of the current tourist attraction, which originated in 2004. The highest-altitude wooden look-out tower in the Czech Republic is 21 meters high and has 7 floors. This look-out tower was built of a spruce logs. Because its top is a part of protected area, the construction had to take place without the help of machines - the material weighing 60 tons was transported by cable car and horses. To the roofless platform, which offers a view on the Bohemian Forest and in good weather the distant Alps, leads 109 stairs.
The obverse side of the medal designed by a young artist Asamat Baltaev, DiS., is dedicated to sight of the look-out tower, surrounded by a trees and an inscriptions LOOK-OUT TOWER BOUBÍN, 1362 m n. M.
The reverse side belongs to a plastic map of the nearby area of the look-out tower and bears the names of peaks that can be seen from it - SOLOVEC, BOBÍK, LYSÁ, KLEŤ, KNÍŽECÍ STOLEC, ŠPIČÁK, CHLUM, JEDLOVÁ HORA and VÍTKŮV KÁMEN.
Do not miss a luxurious collectible etui in dark wood with a thematic engraving, which holds all twelve medals from this cycle - you can find it in the assortment of the Czech Mint.
