Product description
After Karel Gott, Waldemar Matuška and Lucie Bílá the collectible series Nightingales in Gold of the Czech Mint represents another gold star of our popular music. On the occasion of a life anniversary Hana Zagorová gets her own half-ounce medal of pure gold.
Hana Zagorová was born on September 6, 1946. In 1963 she performed in a talent contest and her career began to gain rapid momentum. First recordings, television appearances and a drama studies department at JAMU in Brno followed. Hana’s voice completely dominated the music scene in the late 70s and 80s. Between 1977 and 1985, a talent in conjunction with popularity across all layers of the population, has earned her nine Nightingales in a continuous series.
The author of the visual image of this commemorative mintage is a young medal maker Roman Shamilyan. He dedicated the obverse side to the current portrait of the singer, which she has chosen herself and it is complemented with the inscription HANA ZAGOROVÁ. The reverse side bears her stylized figure dancing on a gramophone record between the notes of a song Maluj zase obrázky /Paint pictures again/ by the composer Pavel Žák, that ruled the charts in 1980. The text on the reverse then states ZLATÁ SLAVICE 1977–1985. /Golden Nightingale/
Without Hana Zagorová your collection Nightingales in Gold will not be complete - add it to a practical collector's box, which are offered in the Czech Mint menu!
