Guardians of czech mountains

According to folklore, our mountains are guarded by supernatural protectors. These ghosts are kind and generous to people who treat the mountains with respect, but as soon as someone hurts the mountain, he or she will meet evil. The first supernatural creature to appear on the gold medal from the new cycle of the Czech Mint is the guardian of the Jizera Mountains Muhu. He is the ruler of the Jizera Mountains, which are home to the Czech Mint.

The Jizera Mountains
have been abandoned for a long time - they did not have a patron who would protect them and keep an eye on the local people. It was not until one day that two powerful spirits - Krakonoš, who ruled in the Krkonoše Mountains, and Rampušák, who ruled the Orlické Mountains, created misty creature which emerged from a broken rock. "She was wearing a bluish cloak, the buttons of which were made of Jizera sapphire, and her eyes were watery, not unlike the ponds on Čihadlo or Knajpa. It smelled of needles from a distance and had long fingers, similar to the roots of beeches, which would not be disproved even by the biggest storm. When the spirit touched the ground with them, he felt every slightest tremor, even if it came only from Bílý Potok or Černická skála, " the legend says. The creators gave the newborn spirit the task of overseeing his land and justly punishing and rewarding its inhabitants. All he was missing was his name when a long owl hoot sounded from the forest: muhuuu…

Academic sculptor Majka Wichnerová
breathed an almost fairy-tale atmosphere into the series. The obverse side of the commemorative medal presents a view of the Jizera Mountains nature, which includes a black grouse and withered spruce. The inscription on the obverse side presents STRÁŽCI ČESKÝCH HOR – MUHU – JIZERSKÉ HORY (THE GUARDIANS OF THE CZECH MOUNTAINS - MUHU - JIZERA MOUNTAINS). The reverse side is dominated by the spirit of Muhu - a wild-looking man with long hair, beard and fingers – accompanied by a barn owl and characteristic representatives of the Jizera Mountains flora.

The collector's series will introduce five more mountain ghosts.
