The Gold Ducat from the Czech Mint’s 12 Signs of the Zodiac series is dedicated to everyone born under the sign of Cancer.

According to astrology, people born under the same sign are similar in many ways. Just like the aquatic crustacean that gave them their name, human Cancers are vulnerable, which means they are compassionate, sensitive, and full of feeling and emotion. Their lives revolve around helping others, but they also take pleasure in being cared for. However, both of these tendencies can develop into emotional dependence. Their protective shell is usually their home and creative pursuits.

Creativity is undoubtedly also a hallmark of medalist MgA. Petra Čánská, who designed the ducat. She dedicated the obverse side of the coin to Cancer, whose body mirrors the corresponding constellation. The composition is completed by the Czech-Latin inscription RAK – CANCER, the corresponding astrological symbol, and a stylized sun. The sun can also be found on the reverse side of the ducat, where it is surrounded by a dozen constellations and a complete list of the zodiac signs.
