The Czech Mint introduced the third gold ducat on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and dedicated it to the heroes of the economic resistance.

German succeed in the early years of World War II, because the Nazis had expert commanders, fanatically devoted soldiers, a surprising strategy and advanced industry. The industrial potential of their war machine was considerably strengthened by the occupation of Czechoslovakia, which was one of the ten richest and most industrialized countries in the world during the First Republic. The inhabitants of the Protectorate did not accept the abuse of their homeland to conquer the world, so many of them were involved in the economic resistance. Sabotages were caused by trained agents of illegal resistance but also ordinary engine drivers. The explosives were carried out by workers from ammunition factories, and chemicals were collected by doctors. When the Nazis banned workers from striking, they began to work slowly in the spirit of the secret motto "PP". In the countryside, there was a circumvention of the regulated food market which was getting to the people in need instead of the front. It is not easy to map the disruption of the war production of the Nazi Third Reich even after eighty years. The actors of the Protectorate economic resistance tried to disguise their activities and make the damage happen as a mere accident.

The academic sculptor Jan Lukáš became the author of the ducat. He expressed the activity of the participants of the economic resistance on the obverse side symbolically through seized gearwheels with flying sparks. Inscriptions on the obverse side state ECONOMIC RESISTANCE, SABOTAGE IN PRODUCTION, 1939–1945. The reverse side of the mintage presents a map of the Protectorate overshadowed by the wings of the Nazi eagle. The composition of the reverse side is completed by the years 1939–1945, together with the inscription PROTECTORATE OF BOHEMIA AND MORAVIA in Czech and German.

Ducat is set in a special packaging in the form of a book containing photographs, together with a treatise written by the renowned historian PhDr. Petr Koura, Ph.D., who loved the Protectorate.
