The Czech Mint dedicated another gold mini coin to Pardubice and set it in a replica of a historical postcard.

Pardubice, located at the confluence of the Elbe and Chrudimka rivers in the Polabská Lowland, is inseparably linked with the tradition of gingerbread production, famous horse races and the first Czech aviator Jan Kašpar. Pardubice has a beautiful historical centre which was built by the Lords of Pernštejn. This European unique is dominated by the defensive water castle which was rebuilt into a large and comfortable Renaissance chateau, and guarded by the Green Gate - the only surviving part of the historical fortification from the 16th century, which consists of a single-storey entrance gate, behind which stands an early Renaissance tower. The building, named after the copper roofing sheet that has turned green through oxidation and weathering, reaches 59 metres high and offers a magnificent view of the town's conservation area and the wider surroundings. Various Pardubice landmarks, many of which have not survived to this day, can be found on a lithograph postcard from the late 19th century which served as a template for the coin packaging.

The medal maker Bc. Zuzana Hubená, DiS., dedicated the reverse side of the coin to the view of the Green Gate, which is surrounded by the inscription PARDUBICE. As the coins of the Czech Mint are issued with the foreign licence of the island of Niue, they bear its necessary attributes on the obverse side - the portrait of King Charles III, the nominal value of 2 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2024.

The original issue represents an affordable collector's piece that will delight numismatists, philocartists, tourists and Pardubice patriots.
