Product description
The commemorative coins of the Czech National Bank with a nominal value of 10,000 CZK commemorate a thematic jubilee in 2019. The gold coins embossed in the quality standard were dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the introduction of the Czechoslovak currency.
The Austro-Hungarian banknotes were still circulating in the Czechoslovak economy after the foundation of Czechoslovakia. That would not be a problem, but the Austrian bank has decided to try to prevent the collapse of state finances by issuing more and more banknotes. The monetary reform had to be implemented in order to avoid the serious threat of inflation in the young Czechoslovakia. It included closing the borders and stamping banknotes that citizens of the new state had to submit. Alois Rašín, a Minister of Finance in the first Czechoslovak government and an expert on economic issues, became the founder of the operation. Rašín's reform contributed to foundation of the Czechoslovak crown and successfully separated the republic from decreasing Austrian currency. And what about central European countries that have decided to solve their economic problems by issuing of new banknotes? They just delayed their bankruptcy ...
The proposal of the medal maker MgA. Josef Oplištil won the first place in the Czech National Bank's art competition for an "imaginative depiction of a moment when the Czechoslovak currency was introduced by stamping banknotes and for the beautiful harmony of both sides". The reverse side of the coin was dedicated to a stamp with a value of 1 K that is pulled from the sheet shown on the obverse side.
All Czech National Bank coins are issued by the Czech Mint from Jablonec nad Nisou.
