Product description

You are familiar with the Czech Lion from the investment coins of the Czech Mint. In 2025, it will also appear on a commemorative certificate in the form of a banknote. Each copy is signed by the author Asamat Baltaev.

Commemorative certificates in the form of banknotes, also known as memorabilia, have enjoyed great popularity among collectors in recent years. They are essentially the paper equivalent of commemorative medals, which have no nominal value and are therefore not legal tender, but at first glance they are indistinguishable from them. Commemorative banknotes are printed on security paper and feature advanced security features to prevent counterfeiting. Their themes vary, but they usually commemorate important figures or significant anniversaries. The first commemorative sheet in the form of a banknote issued by the Czech Mint pays tribute to the two-tailed Czech lion. Since 2017, this beast has dominated popular investment coins and, over the last nine years, has become the de facto mascot of the entire mint...

The Czech lion of the Czech Mint, which has taken many forms over the years, has been the work of AsamatBaltaev, DiS. However, this year he took on this task for the last time and created the commemorative sheet as a farewell. The obverse features a majestic lion's head resting on the St. Wenceslas Crown. The king of beasts is accompanied by two eagles – the Moravian and Silesian eagles. On the reverse side, you will find the motif of the 2017 investment coin that started it all. The surrounding architecture shows Jablonec nad Nisou, the seat of the Czech Mint, together with the capital city of Prague.

Each commemorative coin is marked with a unique serial number and stored in a signed envelope that describes its technical processing.

The sheet was produced in three series. This sheet from series A, numbered from 1 to 500, was accompanied by an autograph session with Asamat Baltaev and was made available for sale in limited quantities. Series B, numbered from 1 to 500, is an integral part of a copper commemorative medal, which boasts an incuse minting. Series C, numbered from 1 to 1000, is available separately.
