Through the National Heroes collector's series, the Czech Mint commemorated 19 Czechoslovak personalities who sacrificed themselves for the greater good. Their fates prove that brave people do not have to risk their lives only on the battlefield, and convince even the biggest doubters that our nation is full of heroes of whom we can be truly proud.

Through the 15 silver medals presented between 2017 and 2021:

1. Jan Patočka - philosopher, spokesman for Charter 77 and victim of the communist regime

2. Josef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš - paratroopers who ended the tyranny of Reinhard Heydrich during World War II

3. Alois Rašín - politician, fighter against Austria-Hungary and Minister of Finance

4. Bedřich Homola - legionary and member of the anti-Nazi resistance

5. Karel Janoušek - Legionnaire, founder of the Czechoslovak units in the RAF and victim of the communist regime

6. Heliodor Píka - Legionnaire, member of the anti-Nazi resistance and victim of the Communist regime

7. Jan Palach and Jan Zajíc - students and opponents of the communist regime

8. Josef Štemberka - priest and martyr of Lidice

9. Nicholas Winton - rescuer of Jewish children during the Second World War

10. Josef Toufar - priest, participant in the miracle of Číhošt' and victim of the communist regime

11. Irena Bernášková - journalist and member of the anti-Nazi resistance

12. Dagmar Šimková - political prisoner of the communist regime

13. "Three Kings" Josef Balabán, Josef Mašín and Václav Morávek - members of the anti-Nazi resistance

14. Milada Horáková - politician and victim of judicial murder committed by the communist regime

15. Karel Hašler - singer-songwriter and victim of the Nazi regime

The elaborate reliefs with rich symbolism are the work of the leading academic sculptor Jiří Dostál. The narrative packaging in the form of a book, which is an integral part of each medal, was prepared by the renowned historian PhDr. Petr Koura, Ph.D.
