Product description

We can hardly imagine the merriment that broke out in 1945 - 75 years ago - when World War II ended. Soldiers and civilians could finally rest after six years of suffering and the world began to celebrate. However, nothing could hide the fact that more than 60,000,000 people died. We can still see the scars left by the greatest war of all time on the bodies and souls of individuals and entire nations.

World War II actually ended twice.
In Europe, we celebrate the date of May 8, 1945, when the unconditional surrender of the Third Reich was announced after the conquest of Berlin, the death of Adolf Hitler and the defeat of the remaining German armed forces. This date - the so-called V-E Day - is the motif of the first commemorative coin from a two-part miniseries. The second gold mintage commemorates the victory of the Allies and the end of the war in the Pacific after the dropping of atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Day of Japanese Surrender, which was officially signed on September 2, 1945, is known as V-J Day.

You can store a pair of coins in this
sheet metal collector's case, the lid of which is decorated with silhouettes of the victorious soldiers - the Soviets and the Americans and which is supplemented with the year 1945.
