Product description
The commemorative coin of The Royal Mint with the year 2021 pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, who celebrated her ninety-fiveth birthday.
Elizabeth II. ascended the throne 69 years ago, which makes her the longest reigning figure in British history. She is the first British monarch who lived to her 95th birthday and celebrated the so-called "sapphire" anniversary - the 65th anniversary of her accession to the throne. She also surpassed the legendary Queen Victoria, who ruled for 63 years. The Windsor dynasty has longevity in its genes - after all, the Queen Mother has lived to a respectable 101 years - and the islanders are already looking forward to celebrating the 70th "platinum" anniversary of their beloved ruler's reign.
The reverse side of the coin, designed by heraldic artist Timothy Noad, presents the Queen's EIIR monogram (Elizabeth II Regina - Queen Elizabeth II), the royal crown and plants symbolizing the peoples of the United Kingdom - the English rose, Welsh narcissus, Scottish thistle and Northern Irish clover. The quote in inscription MY HEART AND MY DEVOTION refers to the promise the queen made to her country in the first televised speech in 1957. The composition of the reverse side is supplemented with the birthday years 1923–2021. The reverse side of the coin is then devoted to the attributes of the issuer, which means the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the text ELIZABETH II D G REG F D (Elizabeth II., By the Grace of God, Queen), the nominal value of 5 POUNDS (GBP) and the year of issue 2021.
The commemorative coin, minted from base metal, is stored in a special packaging full of photographs that present the Queen's life (in English).
