Product description

If you want to stand out among the usual gifts that newlyweds expect, give them the slovak version of the Czech Mint's wedding ducat with the year 2023 that combines the value of gold with original symbolism.

Courtship, engagement and wedding are accompanied by many customs, traditions and superstitions. Some of them are thousands of years old, others have only recently come into being and there are undoubtedly more to come. While in the past wedding customs were fixed and failure to observe them was at the very least an embarrassment, today it is up to the fiancés and wedding guests what they choose to do. There are plenty to choose from! In a globalised world, it is very easy to find out what customs are followed abroad. There are different customs in each country, but their meaning is the same - they are supposed to bring happiness and prosperity. You can follow the tradition of cans tied to the bumper of the newlyweds' car or wedding cakes, soup from one plate and throwing bouquets. The rumble of the road will chase away evil spirits and ensure that the bride and groom are not overlooked…

The wedding car decorated with ribbons, flowers, balloons and cans can be found on the obverse side of the gold ducat, which is the work of medal maker Ludmila Kracíková, DiS.  The composition of the obverse side is supplemented with the inscription SVADOBNÝ DUKÁT. The car can also be found on the reverse side. It bears two rings in the trunk and two birds in love - a bride with a veil and a groom with a hat sitting on the roof.

The gift packaging includes the ducat together with a certificate of authenticity with space for inscribing a personal dedication. Do not overlook other variations of the wedding penny - our 2023 offer includes two different precious metals as well as versions that can be engraved with a dedication.
