The Czech Mint pays tribute to the Czech UNESCO monuments together with the Holy Trinity Column in Olomouc by issuance of the tenth platinum coin from the collector-investment series.

The magnificent
Baroque column in Olomouc is 35 meters long and there is a chapel in its lower part. The sculptural decoration consists of 18 statues of saints, 12 figures of torchbearers, 6 reliefs with half-figures of the apostles, a sculpture of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven, and finally the top sculpture of the Holy Trinity. The monument was built thanks to the outbreak of the plague epidemic that affected Moravia from 1714 to 1716. But since all the artists and craftsmen were proud Olomouc citizens, the Holy Trinity column also became a manifestation of local patriotism. The importance of the building was further enhanced by its ceremonial consecration, which was personally attended by the imperial couple - Maria Theresa and Francis I Stepan of Lorraine in 1754. The story of the Seven Years' War illustrates the proud people. When the Prussian cannonballs hit the column several times during the siege of the city in 1758, the inhabitants of Olomouc went on to the enemy commander, regardless of the danger, who asked him not to shoot at them. The general complied with their wishes and the whole world can enjoy the unique landmark…

The reverse side of the coin is dominated by a view of
the plague column. “It is supplemented with the depiction of the detail from the Holy Trinity sculptural group. It is a dove - or the Holy Ghost, ” the author of the coin Lenka Nebeská, DiS explains.  The composition is surrounded by pearls, together with the inscription COLUMN OF THE HOLY TRINITY IN OLOMOUC. The obverse side of the coin, which is common to the whole platinum series, is dominated by a collage composed of architectural elements of various Czech buildings registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Czech Mint issues the coins with a license of a foreign issuer, the island of Niue, therefore, the obverse side bears the necessary attributes - the nominal value of 50 DOLLARS (NZD), the name and the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. and the year of the issue 2020.

The coin is supplemented with a
special certificate of authenticity. Do not forget that you can store the complete platinum collection in a wooden etui which can also be found in the offer of the Czech Mint.
