Milan Lasica was a legend of Slovak culture. Therefore, the Czech Mint rightfully dedicated him a commemorative medal minted from pure gold.

Actor, humorist, author, director, playwright and singer, a master of words and improvisation, a man of intelligent humour and refinement - such was Milan Lasica, who brought people not only joy and laughter, but also a critical view of the world and support in difficult moments - for example, during the era of normalisation. He seemed to be a sovereign extrovert on the theatre stage and television screens, where he formed an iconic contrasting duo with Július Satinský, however, in reality he was a shy introvert. He himself never understood why he chose such a lively and communicative profession. Everyone knows that he was an excellent actor, but few suspect that he was also a great jazzman. "To sit at the piano in a fancy restaurant and play and sing American evergreens to make the guests feel better," he described his real life dream. In the end, he died doing what he loved most - during thunderous applause after a concert performance on the stage of his theatre, which he spent years building. He bowed and breathed his last...

Slovak medal maker Mgr. Art. Miroslav Hric, Art.D., dedicated the obverse side of the medal to a faithful portrait of the charismatic Milan Lasica. Silhouettes of the heads of Milan Lasica and Július Satinský connected by a common hat can be found on both the obverse and reverse side of the medal. The texts on the medal include the name MILAN LASICA, the decorative initials of the L&S actors and the Milan Lasica quote "CESTU SME MALI SPOLOČNÚ, ALE NOHY MA BOLIA VLASTNÉ" (translated as "WE SHARED THE ROAD, BUT MY OWN FEET HURT").
